STATIC FREQUENCY CONVERTER
What is SFC?
The SFC (Mobile Unit) is an aircraft support equipment which would be primarily used to supply electrical power supply to all Passenger or Fighter Aircrafts on ground at the time of starting up and ground testing / servicing during maintenance activities.
Modes of Operation
- SFC works on 415V AC 50Hz 3 Phase input supply and delivers 200V / 115VAC 400Hz 3Phase supply to Aircrafts.
- SFC consists of an IGBT Rectifier, a bank of DC Capacitors, an Inverter with isolation Transformer at its output and required Controls.
- Rectifier converts 415VAC into DC Power while maintaining input PF almost at unity. DC Capacitors will remove AC content in DC Bus.
- Inverter will convert this DC into 200V / 115VAC 400Hz 3Phase supply.
- An EMI / EMC Filter present at 415V input to prevent any high frequency noise interference. SFC can work with or without battery.
- SFC enclosure will be accommodated in a Sheet Steel enclosure, which intern mounted on a Trolley, enabling to move it to nearby Aircraft.
